The ubiquitous nature of sensor networks has driven the development of smart and autonomous sensors. In addition to information processing, intelligent methods are being incorporated into the design, implementation and management of sensor networks. The resulting smart sensor networks are therefore able to meet the demand for autonomy and hence being adopted for a wide range of applications. This workshop will provide a forum for presenting and discussing the most recent advances in different aspects of smart sensor networks. The workshop will gather leading researchers from academics and industry to present their research and experiences from developing/deploying sensor networks. Topics of interest include, but not limited to:

› Actuation Methods
  › Bio-Inspired Computing
  › Cognitive Radio
  › Control Mechanisms
  › Cross-layer System Designs
  › Data Fusion
  › Detection, Estimation, and Tracking
  › Human-Sensor Interactions
  › Information Processing
  › Internet of Things
  › MAC Protocols
  › Multi-objective Optimization
  › Network Security
  › Network Topology
  › Performance Analysis
  › Quality of Service
  › Reasoning and Inference
  › Resource Management
  › Routing and Clustering Algorithms
  › Sensing and Sampling Techniques
  › Sensor Selection
  › Smart Grids
  › Smart Home Applications
  › Wireless Video Networks

Submissions
Authors are invited to submit original technical papers tohttp://edas.info/ by selecting “IWSSN 2012”. Electronic submission to papers@cyberc.org with title of IWSSN 2012 Submission is also accepted.

Publications
As in 2010, all accepted and presented papers of this workshop, will be published by IEEE Computer Society's Conference Publishing Services (CPS) and are included in the IEEE Xplore database. They will further arranged for indexing through IEE INSPEC, EI (Compendex), DBLP, and Thomson ISI. Authors of accepted papers, or at least one of them, should register and present their work at the conference, otherwise their papers will be removed from the digital libraries of IEEE Xplore and EI after the conference.

Manuscript Guidelines
All submitted manuscripts should be prepared as technical papers and may not exceed 8 letter size (8.5 x 11) pages including figures, tables and references using the IEEE format for conference proceedings (print area of 6-1/2 inches (16.51 cm) wide by 8-7/8 inches (22.51 cm) high, two-column format with columns 3-1/16 inches (7.85 cm) wide with a 3/8 inch (0.81 cm) space between them, single-spaced 10-point Times fully justified text). For more information please seeftp://pubftp.computer.org/Press/Outgoing/proceedings/. The templates in word are:
  • Instruct8.5x11x2.doc 254 KB 8/22/2008 12:00:00 AM
  • Instruct8.5x11x2.pdf 276 KB 8/22/2008 12:00:00 AM and that in Latex are:
